Music Events & Art Projects
Music has always been our thing – ask Fall Out Boy!
They performed at WYO in 2002 before making it big.
High school students have the opportunity to perform in a band or as a solo artist in an unique atmosphere at least once a month at the WYO. DJ’s like Louis the Child and upcoming bands like Aerius, have grown through the WYO venue and we love to host them!

WE ROCK
Every October, December, and March, we host
“Battle of the North Shore Bands”
and award grand prizes such as private music lessons, artist management, and professional photoshoots.
Benefits to participating in the WYO Music Concerts:
- Build strong connections with other local musicians
- Gain more experience on stage and in front of an audience
- If you win an award with us or join our music committee, it will look great on your applications for music schools!
If you are a musician or band interested in booking a show at the WYO, please e-mail info@winnetkayo.org
WYO’s Music Impact Award
During the Winnetka Youth Organization’s Annual Spring Benefit, the Music Impact Award is given to honor a band that showed enthusiasm and leadership in relation to music events. They have the gift of bringing the community together through their passion and talents.

2018 Music Impact Award Winners
AERIUS BAND from Wilmette, IL
Congratulations to Aerius on receiving the 2018 Music Impact Award! They are part of our newly-formed Music Committee and play regularly at our events, along with being eager to improve the WYO’s music activities.
“When we were at the YO and we played our first show, we got a lot of connections to cool people, cool venues, and made friends. So that’s really nice, and it kind of started us actually having shows, and not just playing around Wilmette. So that’s really cool. So thanks to the WYO and everybody involved!” We love having them as part of the WYO community.
